The Odd Couple
by NEIL SIMON - Blair Hodson, Director
March 26th - April 3rd 2009
A divorced slob and an obsessively clean suicidal hypochondriac teamed up with results that had them laughing gasping and wanting to clean something.
The Odd Couple confronted the nature of the thin line between love, friendship, and madness – and maybe this time Felix crossed this line!
John Bellomo played Felix, a suicidal hypochondriac whose wife has kicked him out because she can’t stand his cooking and cleaning attacks any longer. Dave Rohe played Oscar his friend, an untidy, unreliable, sports reporter who is divorced and now lives in an empty six room apartment. He offers his distressed friend Felix a new home in his apartment. Soon the trouble began because two such contrary characters can’t live together for long. Felix turned Oscar’s disorderly flat into a clean house and garden showhome. He cleaned and cooked the whole time. After a short while, Oscar feels persecution mania. The laughter ensued when Oscar invited their two female neighbours for dinner, because he has to touch something softer than a bowling ball!
