The Review from D.H. including such comments as:
“Dorne Arthur’s Dickens is a combination of community enthusiasm, discipline and infectious excitement. The cast of 30+ was packed with so many family groups that the programme reads rather like a series of Christmas cards. It’s enhanced also by the choreography. Adele Patten has been faced with physical constraints similar to seeing how many people you can make dance inside a telephone booth but she’s arranged some excellent tableaux and some effective moments of contrast. For the remaining nights, you too may experience background carols, tinsel on the piano, a choice of four drinks at interval, and a message with relevance for Taranaki industrialists.”
