ROSS JORDAN

2007

Conjugal Rites

2009
Summer Wonderland

As a fan of Roger Hall for many years Ross Jordan's first play to be directed at Cue Theatre was, appropriately, "Conjugal Rites". Twenty years previous he had auditioned for Dorne Arthur and subsequently appeared in the amateur premiere of “Glide Time” at New Plymouth Repertory playing the part of Michael.  Needless to say, Hall plays have always remained of interest to him.

His love of theatre, and being located in New Plymouth, saw Ross at Little Theatre in the early 70’s working in close association with Derek Treeby - and it was Derek’s who mentored him as he undertook his first "theatrical" directorship with "Conjugal Rites".

With stints at New Plymouth Operatic and Repertory Ross then moved to Wellington and was fortunate to be involved with the Scout and Guide Gang Shows – directing several of these with casts of over 80.   He was also involved with the Lower Hutt Musical Players – taking the stage in a variety of weird and wonderful roles!

Now settled in Inglewood Ross continues to be a creative influence with the Cue Theatre and his latest play "Summer Wonderland" by Matthew Ryan was an entertaining rendition of this award winning Australian comedy. We are sure that Ross will be looking for another play to direct before too long.
