PETER MEIKLE
| Lettice and Lovage |
Peter Meikle joined Cue Theatre in 2005 as part of the production team for "The Lion In Winter". Although "Private Lives" was his first opportunity to direct in our theatre his reputation precedes itself with over 130 productions spanning a career in many genres including opera, musicals and plays. Credits include ‘Amadeus’, ‘The God Boy’, ‘The Woman In Black’ and ‘La Traviata’. A self confessed Noël Coward enthusiast, Peter ensured that this acclaimed classic of English theatre was a fitting tribute to Cue’s 50th year and Coward’s reputation as “the Master.” The two-hander "Love Letters" was undertaken with Valda Hinz and brought Peter back to the stage as an actor/director for this successful short season of four perfomances during the 2007 Taranaki Fringe Garden Festival.
The Peter Shaffer comedy "Lettice and Lovage" enthralled the Taranaki audiences in 2008 and we await Meikle's next Cue Theatre production with great expectation.
